Adding Bleed in Adobe Dimension: A Step-by-Step Guide for Non-Designers

In this article, we'll walk through the process of adding bleed to your designs within Adobe Dimension so that they can be easily printed or exported as PDFs. Follow these simple steps:

1. Open Your Adobe Dimension Project

Firstly, ensure you have an active project open in Adobe Dimension.

2. Access Print Settings

To access print settings and add a custom paper size with bleed, follow the following instructions:

- On Windows: Click on 'File' > 'Export As...' or press Ctrl+Shift+E.

- On Mac: Select 'File' > 'Save as PDF...'

3. Add Custom Paper Size with Bleed

Now that you're in the export dialog box, click on the little 'More Options' button at the bottom left corner.

4. Configure Paper Settings

In this new window:

- Under 'Paper', select 'Custom...' from the drop-down menu.

- Enter your desired width and height values for your custom paper size.

- Make sure to check off both 'Use Paper Size' and 'Crop Marks & Bleeds'.

- For bleed, set it to .25 inches (6.35 mm) on all sides if you're unsure.

5. Save Your Custom Paper Settings

Click 'OK' twice in the following windows:

- Adobe PDF Export Options

- The export dialog box will now close with your custom paper settings saved for future use.

- To access these custom settings again, simply select 'Paper Size: 'YourCustomName'' from the dropdown list under 'Paper' when exporting a new file.
